Mexico is the thirty-second country in which our recycling machines help in effective waste management. The electric shredder MRW 2.85he has just started working in a newly opened waste treatment installation near the city of Macuspana (Tabasco State), whose inhabitants generate 64,000 tons of garbage a year.

The installation where the MRW 2.85he shredder works, is the result of an agreement between Geocycle (part of the Swiss LafargeHolcim group) and the Macuspana authorities. Under the contract, yearly 21,600 tones of inorganic waste coming from the local landfill will be processed here. The investment, which costs the equivalent of USD 1.3 million, was solemnly launched by Tabasco Governor Adán Augusto López Hernández. In his speech, he spoke not only about its positive impact on the environment, but also about changing the way local communities think about waste.

Sven Ritschard, CEO of Geocycle Mexico, mentioned an even wider range of impact. From now on, garbage has gained a specific value as an alternative fuel and helps to create a circular economy. Their use will contribute to reducing emissions of harmful gases into the atmosphere and the consumption of fossil fuels.

The MRW 2.85he shredder equipped with an electric motor is the first element of the newly opened line. The machine sold to Mexico has been specially adapted to customer requirements. In addition to mounting the magnetic separator, we have redesigned the frame to comply with another transport standard and made the necessary adjustments to the electrical installation. When the machine was started for the first time, our representatives were there to give a training to employees. They learned about safety when working with the shredder, its features and proper servicing.

MRW 2.85he is a machine from the MRW 2.85 line equipped with a hooklift frame. At its heart is a shredding system consisting of two shafts. Depending on the order it can be available in five, six or eight knife versions. The main drive is 250 kW ABB electric motor, which works in combination with two hydraulic transmissions. The 2.85h twin variant can be powered by a Caterpillar diesel engine.

In addition to the MRW 2.85he shredder, we also offer the following machines of this type: MRW 2.85 (wheeled version), MRW 2.85g (tracked version), MRW 2.1010 (the largest shredder in the whole range), MRW 1.300 (single-shaft variant) and MRS 1.53 (high-speed model).
